Cothi Cottage
Very spacious and comfortable self-catering accommodation, all on ground level, in a quiet and peaceful location. As a couple, we only used one of the two bedrooms but there would be plenty of room for a family of 4. The owners seem to have thought of everything – there was nothing we wanted but lacked. We would have no hesitation in booking a return visit for our next holiday in Wales. September 2024
Cottage is one of several in what used to be a farm and all buildings have now been converted to attractive accommodation. On arrival the gardens and baskets were in full bloom, lovely. The cottage was clean, equipped with everything one needs and has a small garden which is a sun trap. Lovely area to be and we had no problem finding things to do. August 2024
This was our 2nd visit to Penwern Fach holiday cottages. Set in a peaceful and relaxing location. Not far from Cardigan and the west coast of Wales. The cottage was very spacious, comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Hope to return. July 2024
The property was very well equipped and the location is excellent for exploring this corner of South West Wales. This is our fourth time of visiting Penwern Fach Holiday Cottages. June 2024
Cych Cottage
We had such a lovely stay at Cych Cottage. The cottage was spotless and had everything you could need. We came with our 2 boys 17 and 20 years. We were worried they would be bored but with the fast wifi, table tennis and pool table they had a great time too! Lovely meal at the 3 horseshoes pub, a relaxing morning at the Cenarth Falls Resort Spa and lovely walks around the Falls and coastal path. Thank you Penwern Fach Cottages…. We had a great time. We booked Cych and Towy together for our Christmas break for 10 people ranging from 21 to 88 yrs old. Yvonne and her family went the extra mile to decorate the cottages beautifully and giving us an extra table to allow all of us to eat together. The bonus of the games room for the younger ones was fab. Both cottages were well appointed. We took along a lot of extra stuff to make life easier but much of it was not required. We did not realise that our dogs could not go upstairs which was a bit sad although understandable. Other than that our holiday was amazing. December 2023
The cottage was the probably the best I have stayed in and the area is so peaceful. The owners were so welcoming and helpful, I would definitely book again when in the area. September 2023
Hirwaun Cottage
The property is finished to an excellent standard and well maintained throughout including a very pleasant garden. I drive an EV and having on site charging transformed the holiday as it seems this part of Wales hasn’t heard about the need for fast chargers for visitors yet. Charging on site meant we could spend all our time visiting the local attractions. The owners make you feel welcome and are very supportive of any requirements without being obtrusive. We scored location at 4 not 5 simply because you need to use a vehicle to get anywhere as the cottages are quite remote. September 2024
Memorable short stay which grandchildren visiting us much enjoyed so will need to return sometime. A very lovely spacious cottage in beautiful grounds and indoor/outdoor activities for children and adults. August 2024
The holiday cottages are set in beautiful well presented grounds and offer first class facilities and comfort. The friendly and caring hospitality delivered by the hosts made our stay both relaxing and very enjoyable. The location is ideal for visiting some of the best coastal locations and St David’s is an easy drive away. September 2023
Towy Cottage
Our third visit to Penwern Fach and it only gets better. Even more to do with the addition of outdoor table tennis and chess. The addition of a hot tub at Towy was a welcome surprise. Everything was spotless and well maintained and the hosts were very accommodating as always. August 2024
Towy Cottage is very well appointed – it has everything you need for a comfortable stay and is very clean. The owners came to greet us and were very friendly but not intrusive – they were available if we needed anything and were happy to advise on queries. Our two sons enjoyed the pool table, ping pong and golf driving range – perfect for days when the weather was less good. We also enjoyed the new BBQ. Nice to be able to sign into the television to watch films on evenings. In the area, we did parts of the coastal walk, including Dinas Head which is a nice circular walk. Tresaith Beach is highly recommended for families – good facilities including cafe, pub and toilets. Parking up the hill is cheap (£2 unlimited time). In general, most visitor places have toilets which are clean and most swimming beaches have lifeguards. Nearby, the walk by Cenarth Falls is short but very pleasant – so nice to see that part of it is fully accessible to all via the ‘boardwalk’. We had a nice meal at the Three Horseshoes in Cenarth – good steaks. Fish and Chips at the cafe at the top of the high street in Cardigan were also good. The Tesco in Cardigan also delivers to the cottages, which is very useful for the start of the holiday. July 2024
We have stayed here several times over the years with our daughters and always have a lovely holiday. Our favourite beaches are Mwnt and Penbryn and the girls enjoy crabbing at St Dogmaels. The house is perfect for families in particular as it has lots to do on site with the play area, games room and outside space to run around and play football. The owners are always friendly and helpful. We have some happy memories created here. July 2024
Gwaun Cottage
The cottage was warm, cosy and immaculately clean. Nice to come back to at the end of a day exploring the many attractions the area has to offer. Would have no hesitation in recommending this property and the area for a break with your dog. October 2024
Comfy cottage in quiet location but close to amenities. Wonderful, friendly hosts This was a repeat visit but nice new touches added this year. September 2024
Had a lovely stay at Gwaun Cottage. Well equipped property in a peaceful rural location. Close to the coast and beautiful beaches. Owner Yvonne on hand if needed. July 2024
My wife and I stayed for a week in Gwaun with our dog, with the rest of our family in Towy. Despite being a small and peaceful site the owners have equipped it exceptionally well meaning there was always plenty to keep all generations occupied (football field, table football, pool, giant chess, table tennis, driving range, walks from the gate etc), even when the weather wasn’t so good. The cottages themselves were both clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The owners were very friendly and responsive both before and during our stay. The site is a short drive down a farm track away from the road, so is very quiet but within easy driving reach of the coast and other towns and villages, with nice sandy beaches (plenty, but not all of which, are dog friendly during summer months) for when the weather improved. June 2024
Another wonderful visit to Gwaun Cottage. The cottage was renovated and extended a few years ago, making this a perfect couples retreat. Dog friendly and our Border Collie is very relaxed as soon as we arrive. Well located and within easy reach of Cardigan, Poppit Sands and Newcastle Emlyn. Can recommend Poppit Sands as a very big, dog friendly, beach. Can also recommend Priory Cafe in Cardigan and Harrisons Bistro in Newcastle Emlyn which both serve excellent food and are dog friendly. The welcome at the cottage by Yvonne and Howell is always great. They live on site so are convenient if needed but that’s unlikely as everything is provided in the cottages. Will be booking again soon. Highly recommended. February 2024
Teifi Cottage
I booked two cottages for our family holiday – grandparents, two sons with wives and two grandsons. The facilities were brilliant for all ages. I couldn’t recommend this more for a family holiday. August 2024
Thoroughly enjoyable stay in Teifi cottage. Clean, comfortable, and excellent with communication owner throughout. Location great for exploring the local coast, Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire. Would definitely return. April 2024
We enjoyed our short break at Penwern Fach. All cottages are so clean and comfortable with parking outside cottages. It is very peaceful there but near lots of lovely places to visit. We hope to return next year. October 2023
