Penwern Fach Holiday Cottages are situated about a mile or so from the pretty village of Cenarth which is famous for its salmon leap waterfalls. Ideal for children of any age Penwern Fach has acres of grassy space for football, rounders, cricket or just running about! The play tower is obviously a big plus for those under 12 while the golf practice field is great if your teenage is looking to improve his golfing skills (mums & dads allowed as well)! Cenarth and the surrounding towns & villages, some deep in secluded little rural valleys others perching on the dramatic coast of Cardigan Bay, make for a glorious holiday location with plenty to see and do without the “crush” of more ordinary destinations.
“Excellent location. Owners very polite and professional. Cottage beautiful and clean and very large.” Jones family – Towy Cottage – Septermber 2019.
These six self-catering, holiday cottages are set in their own grounds of 10 acres with glorious views over the Teifi Valley and the Preseli Hills of Pembrokeshire, the cottages are secluded but not remote – only a short drive will take you to the stunning coastal scenery and beaches of Cardigan Bay renowned for its dolphin spotting opportunities. The kids will just love setting sail in search of these adorable creatures or alternatively go “crabbing” for a less energetic outing. For those with a taste for something more extreme paragliding, kayaking and coasteering are all within easy reach.
Just 7 miles from the market town of Cardigan (castle restoration nearly complete & should be opening in April ’15) and home of a soft indoor play centre for the tiny tots called Teifi Mania and 3 miles from Newcastle Emlyn (lots of independent shops).
Folly Farm Adventure Park & Zoo make a great day out for the whole family, rain or shine, there is just so much to see & do you’ll probably want to return more than once!
Sympathetically converted from traditional Welsh farm buildings the cottages are full of charm and character with original stone walls and exposed beams. They offer the nostalgic comfort of a bygone age of cosy relaxation, ideal for a family holiday in this enchanting part of West Wales.
“The property was very well equipped and the location is excellent for exploring this corner of South West Wales. This is our fourth time of visiting Penwern Fach Holiday Cottages.” – Cothi – June 2024.
“My wife and I stayed for a week in Gwaun with our dog, with the rest of our family in Towy. Despite being a small and peaceful site the owners have equipped it exceptionally well meaning there was always plenty to keep all generations occupied (football field, table football, pool, giant chess, table tennis, driving range, walks from the gate etc), even when the weather wasn’t so good. The cottages themselves were both clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The owners were very friendly and responsive both before and during our stay. The site is a short drive down a farm track away from the road, so is very quiet but within easy driving reach of the coast and other towns and villages, with nice sandy beaches (plenty, but not all of which, are dog friendly during summer months) for when the weather improved.” Gwaun – June 2024
We are only six miles inland from the spectacular coastline of Cardigan Bay with its glorious sandy beaches, cliff-top walks and home of the bottlenose dolphins and grey seals. Fabulous beaches include award-winning Mwnt, Tresaith & Llangrannog but with the Ceredigion coast so close to hand you’ll be spoilt for choice.
It is easy to feel you’ve escaped to another world and is the ideal place to sit back and do nothing!
